This 5″ Pencil Popper has an interesting story. An avid Cape Cod Canal fisherman that I met and gave him the 5″ Yellow Floating Pencil to try, took it all apart, and then filled it with as much lead weight it could take and still fly and perform as he wanted. Cape Cod Canal fishermen are famous for buying a lure that they like for maybe it’s shape and customizing them for the Canal. This fisherman’s nickname on the Canal is “Paul the Painter” Gravina. Hence PTP’s Canal Pencil Popper. Plus as with all our lures no matter what the color, we paint them with Blood Red mouths and chins running over a yellow haloed white belly.
